Restyle a clip

Redraw a short clip in a new look with AI — what you can ask for, how long a source it takes, what comes back and what it costs — and what it does to people, mouths and cuts.

Updated October 2026

Restyle redraws every frame of a clip to a look you describe in words — a painting style, a film stock, a time of day. It is an AI pass that runs on our servers, so it needs a Cloud project, a sign-in and credits. This is the Mac and Windows app; the phone has it in the clip’s menu too.

Start a restyle

  1. Right-click a video clip, open AI passes, and choose Restyle…. It is in the menu’s ADDS A TAKE group.
  2. Under THE STYLE, IN YOUR WORDS, describe the look. The price appears once you have written something; nothing is charged until you choose to run it, and each run is one attempt.
  3. Under DOES THE RESULT SHOW…, tick anything the result will show. An identifiable real person, a minor, explicit content or a copyrighted character stops the run, and the sheet says so before you pay. Graphic violence is allowed and recorded with the take.

What it takes

Restyle takes a source up to 10 seconds long, and it redraws all of the source, not only the part your clip uses — trimming the clip does not shorten what is redrawn. The sheet names the source’s length, and for a longer source the menu row says why it can’t run.

What comes back

Every frame redrawn to your words at 1280×720, 24 fps, the same length, with the source’s own sound. It is priced per second, rounded up.

  • People are redrawn too. A face can come back with a different skin tone, age or features, and someone talking can come back with lips that don’t follow their words.
  • Cuts. Restyle looks for cuts inside the source and lists them under CUTS IN THIS SOURCE. Tick Keep this cut for each one you want kept: each kept cut redraws the next shot on its own, and can add up to a second to the bill. A cut you don’t keep, or one it didn’t find, comes back as one continuous shot.
  • It is AI-made. Exports label it that way in their Content Credentials even though you shot the footage; see Content Credentials (C2PA).

Use the restyled take

The restyle does not replace your clip. It comes back as a new take of it, and your clip keeps showing the original. Right-click the clip and choose Review takes… to compare them; Make keeper puts a take on the clip. Switching takes is free and ⌘Z undoes it.
