Generate voice, music, sound effects and stills
What you can ask the Director for besides video — a voiceover in one of eight voices, a music bed up to ten minutes, a sound effect up to 30 seconds, a still image — and how each is priced.
The Director makes these when you ask it in its Auto or Produce mode (Plan and Edit make none), and each one comes to you as an item on an approval card with its price; it is generated only if you approve it. They need a Cloud project, a sign-in and credits. This is the Mac and Windows app. For video shots, see choose the quality and model for generated video.
Voice
Give the Director the script and say who should read it. There are eight stock voices:
- George — a warm, British storyteller; the voice used when you don’t say.
- Brian — deep and resonant, American; weighty narration and trailers.
- Sarah — mature and reassuring, American; explainers.
- Alice — a clear British educator; tutorials.
- Roger — laid-back and casual, American; conversational.
- Laura — bright and enthusiastic, American; social-media hooks.
- Liam — an energetic American creator; short-form and ads.
- River — relaxed and even-toned, gender-neutral, American; calm voiceover.
The Director tells you which voice it picked. For a character who speaks more than once, give them a standing voice so every line sounds the same: in the Library’s ANCHORS section, click the character, and choose one under Voice. Cloning a real person’s voice is not available. A voiceover is billed by the length of its script, not by how long it plays.
Music
Describe the music and how long it should run. One bed can be up to ten minutes; a longer score is made as several beds. It is billed by length. The default music model is licensed; for a temporary or draft bed you can ask for a cheaper one, and the Director names the model and its price when it proposes the bed. On the default model you can also ask for a structured bed — sections such as an intro, a build and a drop, or lyrics — each with its own length.
Sound effects
Describe the sound — an impact, a whoosh, a riser, a burst of ambience — up to 30 seconds. It is billed by length and is cheap.
Stills
Ask for a still image and it is placed on a video track for as long as you want it to show. It is billed per image, however long it shows. A still has one quality and one price: the Draft, Standard and Premium tiers apply to video, not to stills. A still is a cheap way to try a look before paying for video shots. To give it movement, animate it with keyframes.
