The terms that will govern use of Horoptic — scaffolded pending final, attorney-reviewed wording. You author and own everything you make.
What this page will cover
This is a scaffolded placeholder for Horoptic’s Terms of Service. The route, structure, and typography are in place; the binding wording is authored by the owner and legal counsel before public launch. Nothing on this page is legal advice.
Two things below are stated now rather than held back, because they are already true of how Horoptic works and you should not have to wait for a legal document to learn them.
Ownership of what you make
You are the author and owner of all Output — every clip, image, voice, and cut you produce with Horoptic. Horoptic claims no ownership in Output. Nothing is held back, and nothing has to be granted back to you, because it was never ours: you made it.
This is not a concession we could withdraw in a later draft. It is how the product is built. The editor runs on your machine, your projects are yours on disk, and generation produces files that arrive in your timeline already yours.
Why it isn’t live yet
Horoptic is in an invite-only closed beta. The commercial and legal surfaces are being finalized alongside the payments and generation systems. This document goes live — with real, reviewed wording — before any money changes hands.
In the meantime
- The manual editor is free, offline, and account-less.
- Generation and renders arrive as proposals with a credit total — nothing is reserved until you approve. Directing itself is metered: each Director turn draws the credits its own reasoning used.
- Credits buy generation capacity, not content, and they are consumed when a job is accepted.
