Organize footage in bins
Sort the Library's footage into bins and bins inside bins, find a shot by name, keyword or bin, and filter and sort the pool.
Bins are manual editing, so they are free and work offline in any project. This is the Mac and Windows app.
Make a bin
In the Library panel’s POOL, use the + menu and choose New bin, or right-click an empty part of the pool and choose New bin. It appears under BINS with its name ready to type; press Enter to keep it. Right-click a bin for Rename…, New bin inside or Delete bin. Bins nest as deep as you like.
Deleting a bin never deletes footage: the shots in it stay in your project, just no longer filed there. The menu says what goes with it before you choose.
File footage
Drag footage rows onto a bin to file them there; a shot can sit in more than one bin. Drag a bin onto another bin to move it inside. To take a shot out of the bin you are looking at, right-click it and choose Remove from this bin — it stays in the project.
Find a shot
Type in Search bins to search footage names, keywords and bin names at once; inside a bin, it searches only that bin. The filter chips narrow the pool: Keepers (rated and not rejected), ★3+, Unused (not in the cut) and Labels (has a colour label); Clear turns them off. Under SORT, order the pool by Name, Scene, Shot, Take, Duration, Used or Rating.
