Keyboard shortcuts and your old editor's keymap
Use Final Cut Pro, Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve or Avid Media Composer keys in Horoptic, change any shortcut, and find what a key does.
Every shortcut lives in one place: open the command palette (⌘K) and choose Keyboard shortcuts…. It lists every command, including ones you can’t run right now, with the reason beside each. On Windows, ⌘ is Ctrl and ⌥ is Alt.
Use the keys you already know
- At the top, under KEYMAP, click the current keymap’s name.
- Choose Final Cut Pro, Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve or Avid Media Composer.
- The sheet asks Use the … keymap? and counts what changes: MAPPED commands take that editor’s key, UNCHANGED ones keep their Horoptic default, and any that editor has no key for are listed as left with no key. If you had changed keys yourself, each change is named, and you can tick Carry over my … changes to keep them.
- Choose Use … keymap.
Each keymap was checked command by command against that editor’s own published list of default shortcuts. Switching replaces every binding but changes nothing in your projects: keymaps live on this computer.
Change one shortcut
- Find the command — type its name in Search commands.
- Click the key shown on its row, then press the new key. Escape cancels; ⌫ leaves the command with no key.
- If the key is already taken, you’re shown which command holds it before anything changes.
The header then reads the keymap’s name and how many changes you’ve made. Revert all puts every key back to that keymap; it asks first, and you can Undo it.
Find out what a key does
Switch the search from NAME to KEY, then press the key. The list shows the command it runs.
Bare-letter shortcuts never fire while you’re typing in a field — a caption, a clip name, the Director’s message box.
